How to Boil Eggs

To learn how to boil eggs, first place fresh eggs carefully in a saucepan. Cover the eggs completely with cold water, leaving about an inch of water above them. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat it until the water reaches a rolling boil. Once the water boils, reduce the heat and let the eggs cook gently. For hard-boiled eggs, cook them for about 9–12 minutes. When the eggs are ready, turn off the heat and carefully remove them from the hot water. Place the boiled eggs immediately into a bowl of ice-cold water. Let them cool for about 5–10 minutes to stop the cooking process. Gently tap and peel the eggs under running water for easier peeling.
