This golden-yellow coloured broken wheat – known as DALIYA OR LAPSI is made from whole raw wheat kernels which are crushed or cut into smaller pieces. This wheat reduces cooking time but still preserves the fiber rich bran and wheat layers.
Daliya is a popular breakfast cereal in North India and is made with whole wheat grits or broken wheat. It can be made either as a sweet dalia kheer or as savoury daliya.
