I agree with a lot of the 5 star reviews here, Neal was very responsive, cool, nice and professional at first. That is, until you complain about something and then you'll get to know the real Neal and the real Neal is all about retaliation. He will teach you a lesson to never complain about anything again. We were good tenants, hardworking Mom and Dad, gave birth to 2 kids from 2017-2025 while living in one of Neal's units, paid our rent on time every month and reported maintenance issues when they arose and usually the work that was done didn't fix the problem, our fridge broke once after we had made multiple maintenance requests, the maintenance guy came out, stuck his hand in the fridge and says, it works. Shortly after that, it's broke down, takes them over a week to replace, when we complain about it, Neal responds, your rent will increase, this is your 45 day notice. He would later rescind the notice after there was a fire in a neighboring unit causing a lot of damage to the building, not a good time to raise the rent I suppose. Long story short, after the renovation was completed over a year later, there was a huge mess left in our apartment, paint on our furniture, screens and piles of debris in our washing machine. After complaining about this, we were told to vacate the premises, a mom dad, 6 month old baby and a 5 year old girl were told to vacate the premises, why? Because we complained. Neal also knew at the time that he did this that we couldn't sign a one year lease at another place because we were closing the deal on our first home purchase in less than one year. He eventually rescinded the notice to vacate, but the end result was that we lived in a place for almost 1 year under a dictatorship, where we were forbidden to complain or else! That's no way to treat people. Tenants have a right to complain especially under these extenuating circumstances and his behavior was inhumane and cruel causing tremendous stress and fear.
