Aerial yoga classes are a unique and a fun way to stay active and get that well-deserved workout for your body.
How does Aerial yoga work?
Well, hanging from the ceiling, there are sturdy and strong aerial silk hammocks, suspended in mid air for you to hop onto during your classes. This is where you practice your yoga asanas with the help of the hammock. The hammock is used as a prop that helps in inversions and other postures very effortlessly. The hammock also helps in muscle strengthening as it is deliberately made to be a little unstable so that your smaller muscle groups have to be engaged to stabilize your body movements.
Of course it is a lot of fun! We have highly trained instructors for aerial yoga so there is no chance of any injury or a fall. Even if you fall, the floor underneath the hammock is built with foam so there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Aerial yoga is great for flexibility, weight loss, core fortification, muscle strengthening, body toning, learning inversions, learning yogic pose alignment and is excellent for beginners as well as for advanced practitioners.
You suspend yourself on the hammock. Since you are suspended in mid-air while in your inversion, it does not put any physical strain on your neck or on your shoulders, making the neck mobile and agile. This also helps in making the neck and the shoulder region flexible which otherwise can become slightly stiff with floor practices as well as with stress.
Aerial yoga is excellent for those with desk jobs and those who spend most of their day on a laptop or in one place.
