Learning Through Doing

As a teacher, you already know that education is not something you just stop doing when you finish university. Many professions, like teaching, require you to partake in mandatory CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in order to stay up to date with the best practices and to maintain your teaching standards. Staying current with any advancements in your field, enhancing your knowledge on the subject matter or new or revised maths programs and learning different ways to improve your teaching skills will not only benefit you personally and make you a better teacher, but your students will thank you too! If you have been teaching maths for some time already, you will understand that your students are individuals and each one has a unique learning method that suits them best. Exploring different teaching styles can help your students get the most out of their lessons with you and improve your teaching skills, so partaking in online maths programs in Australia is a great way to gain knowledge and CPD hours. While traditional methods for mathematics teaching with lecture-based lessons, memorisation and testing can be effective for foundational knowledge and skill development, the most successful type of learning is experimental learning, or learning by doing, where the student actively participates in their learning, making it more engaging and memorable.
